Other Grape Sources

De Tierra Vineyards has also sourced grapes from a variety of local vineyards, including those listed below.

Coastview: Coastview Vineyard is one of the most well known and longest standing vineyards in Monterey County. Coastview is located on the top of a mountain above Chular and has rocky loam soil. It is the highest altitude vineyard in Monterey County. De Tierra Vineyards sourced both the 2006 and 2009 Syrah from Coastview as well as some of its 2007 Chardonnay.

Tondre: Tondre Vineyard is located in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Tondre Vineyard has rocky loam soil and produces SLH Pinot Noir. De Tierra sourced Pinot Noir from Tondre in 2005, 2006 and 2011 (pre-release).

Mesa del Sol: Mesa de Sol Vineyard is located in Arroyo Seco Canyon in South Monterey County. The soil is Rocky River Bottom soil and the average temperature tends to be 5-8 degrees warmer than at the Silacci and Sargenti. This difference in climate makes the Mesa del Sol Vineyard ideal for the production of Syrah. De Tierra purchased Syrah from Mesa del Sol in 2007 and will be producing Syrah and Late Harvest Zinfandel from Mesa de Sol for the 2012 vintage.
