Dessert wines from De Tierra Vineyards are only undertaken every 1-5 years, selecting only the best grapes that are perfectly suited to the dessert wine process and fortification. Our current dessert wine offerings include Late Harvest Riesling and Zinfandel, as well as a port style aged and fortified Zinfandel.
This Late Harvest Zinfandel is bright and nimble on the palate. In the glass, it is deep dark ruby red color. Aromas of cola and fruit leather are inviting. On the palate, this wine softly oers avors of sweet ripe plum, black cherry conserves and touches of hard spices. A welcome touch of acidity carries both aromas and avors of this balanced and lovely wine. This wine is unusually exible for its type and will oer a unique twist as an aperitif as well as in its more classic role as a dessert pairing with fruit based tarts and pastries or (of course!) ne chocolates.
The hand harvested fruit was immediately whole cluster pressed and cold settled for 48 hours to preserve the high toned and exotic aromas.
